First: water plant raw materials
The state of the plant material is water-like and generally classified into three categories: pure dew, extract, and raw juice.
Plant pure dew
This is the most critical one of the aquatic plant materials, which is extracted by steam distillation, usually with flowers or leaves, and distillate after distillation. It mainly contains aromatic compounds, especially volatile aromatic compounds, including aromatic alcohols, aldehydes, acids, esters, ethers, ketones, phenols and the like.
It has a certain bactericidal effect, so generally do not add too much bacteriostatic agent. Of course, its bactericidal effect may not be as strong. Replenishment is a function of all pure dew. The effect is particularly good. If the pure dew is added to the skin care product, in addition to the characteristic fragrance of the plant, the absorption effect of the product is enhanced, and the affinity with the skin is particularly high. Pure dew is suitable for almost all skin care products.
2. Plant extract
There are many types of extracts, and there are many types of classification. According to the extraction method, it is divided into microwave extraction, ultrasonic extraction, etc., and the cells of the plant are opened by shaking to dissolve the nutrients into the solvent. This solvent is called a plant extract.
According to the solvent, it can be divided into water extraction, alcohol extraction, solvent extraction and the like. For example, flower tea, black tea, green tea, this tea is a kind of plant extract, which is a typical water extraction; the ginseng wine which is ginseng put in the liquor is called alcohol extract, because the alcohol is ethanol; the solvent extracts the core. The raw material is soaked in a substance that is soluble, and then extracted is solvent extraction. In many cases, the extraction method is combined with the extraction solvent, such as microwave water extraction, microwave alcohol extraction, and ultrasonic water extraction.
Basic principle The active ingredient of a plant, a water-soluble ingredient, dissolves into a liquid, giving the liquid a certain botanical taste and color. Its composition is more comprehensive, it has a mixture of small molecules of aromatics, but also a mixture of macromolecules such as citric acid, vc, flavonoids, etc., with a certain kind of effect.
Because it contains a lot of nutrients such as protein and starch, it often needs to add some bacteriostatic agents to prevent product spoilage. Extracts generally have some functionality, such as whitening, wrinkle removal, and anti-aging. The function of each plant extract is different.
3. Plant juice
Refers to juice that has not been extracted, distilled, or processed directly from the plant, such as loofah water, cucumber, etc., and the water that flows back from the roots. Plant juice is generally suitable for adding to skin care products to enhance moisturizing and other functions.
Second: aquatic plant materials
Oil plant raw materials are present in the form of oils and fats.
1. Vegetable oil or base oil or medium oil:
Grape seed oil, olive oil, walnut oil, evening primrose oil are all vegetable oils. We use this base oil to reconcile other essential oils, which are suitable for diluting essential oils, and it can also be directly added to the package. It has anti-oxidation, nourishing and other functions. However, if the vegetable oil is added to the cosmetics, generally more than 3 months, the taste of the skin care product will change, because the vegetable oil will be oxidized, and its activity is very strong. Only custom-made products can be used up in a month or up to two months before they can be used in large quantities.
2. Soft oil or soak oil:
The fresh plants such as flowers and leaves are soaked with vegetable oils and oils to absorb the oil-soluble ingredients in the fresh materials, and then the fresh materials are removed, and then added into the fresh materials, and repeated several times until the oil absorbs saturated plant components. This oil will have a distinct plant-specific taste. This oil also has a great advantage. It absorbs the active ingredients of plant raw materials at low temperatures. Without high temperature, the retention of active ingredients of plants and the retention of activity are obvious.
3. Plant essential oils:
Essential oils are not real oils, but they are soluble in oil and are a compound that we temporarily position as oil plant raw materials. It is made from fresh materials of plants (of course, dry, such as sandalwood). It is extracted by distillation (flowers, grasses), pressing (peel), and extraction (more Chinese medicines). An aromatic mixture of plant compounds such as alcohols, aldehydes, acids, esters, ethers, ketones, and phenols may have 200 or 300 active ingredients in various types. If added to cosmetics, it will have some unique functions, which are endowed by a variety of different essential oils, so many products are called essential oil-added products.
